{"id":15205,"date":"2021-04-18T10:43:10","date_gmt":"2021-04-18T10:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/riot-scruffy-steps-down-from-league-s-gameplay-team-becomes-director-of-riot-s-new-mmo"},"modified":"2024-07-19T07:06:24","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T07:06:24","slug":"riot-scruffy-steps-down-from-league-s-gameplay-team-becomes-director-of-riot-s-new-mmo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/valorant\/riot-scruffy-steps-down-from-league-s-gameplay-team-becomes-director-of-riot-s-new-mmo","title":{"rendered":"Riot Scruffy steps down from League\u2019s gameplay team, becomes director of Riot\u2019s new MMO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Mark &ldquo;Scruffy&rdquo; Yetter, one of the best-known names within Riot Games both for his close contact with the community and for his previews on each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/league-of-legends\">League of Legends<\/a> update, has decided to leave his position as Lead Gameplay Designer of the game after eight years.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">However, beyond the impact of the news given his big popularity, this became known by Scruffy as he will transition to a new role within Riot, being named as the new game director of Riot Games&#8217; upcoming MMO.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/FoeEOw2V4-D2yrkLFOW9DKGu9yeeB8N8LPiWwbf1ULo\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9MZWFndWVfb2ZfTGVnZW5kcy9TY3J1ZmZ5XzIuanBn\" alt=\"Scruffy Riot MMORPG\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\">(Picture: Riot Games)<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With the introduction of Scruffy to the MMO team, he has become one of the major names within Riot to be a part of it, having worked with Riot since 2013 as Lead Champion Update Designer, Lead Champion Designer, and Lead Gameplay Designer.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Prior to this, Scruffy was also part of Treyarch&#8217;s design team during the development of the iconic shooter title Call of Duty: Black Ops II.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/oXiVjVtc_wma52cd4XJQ1cCWSR0DIjolgkYFE9xFc9g\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9MZWFndWVfb2ZfTGVnZW5kcy9TY3J1ZmZ5XzMuanBn\" alt=\"Riot Games MMO\" width=\"998\" height=\"740\" loading=\"lazy\">(Picture: Riot Games)<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&ldquo;Personally, working on League for the last 8 years has been the honour of my life,&rdquo; Scruffy added <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MarkYetter\/status\/1383159332926156803\">in his announcement<\/a>. &ldquo;The talented dev team and the passionate players like you have been a critical part of building and improving my favourite game.
