The spring is finally here, and that means that the long-awaited first expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla<\/a> is about the be released.<\/p>\n

Named Wrath of Druids, the first of the three planned DLCs will take us to Ireland.<\/p>\n

“Explore the haunted wilds and beautiful landscapes of Ireland as you battle a druidic cult known as the Children of Danu. Conquer ring forts, master the art of smuggling, and gain the favour of Gaelic kings in a new open-world adventure”, <\/em> says the official description of the expansion.<\/p>\n

Unlike the base game, the focus of the expansion will be on working with local people and helping them achieve their goals, as well as establishing trade routes, as Vikings never really managed to fully conquer the island.<\/p>\n

Ubisoft has been quite secretive about the expansion, and they haven’t really released any new information since they officially revealed Season Pass back in October last year.<\/a><\/p>\n

Still, there has been quite a lot of leaks over the past few weeks revealing more details about the expansion, so let’s take a look at what we currently know.<\/p>\n

AC: V Wrath of Druids story<\/h3>\n

We know the main premise of the story based on the DLC’s description, but recent leaks have discovered more details.<\/p>\n

The Children of Danu, the mysterious and occult cult of the druids, are our main enemies and the expansion will include a lot of Celtic mythology and Irish folktales.<\/p>\n

One of the leaked images shows the wicker man being burned, as some kind of an idol with antlers, and there’s also a Janus figure, which exists in real life on the Boa Island in Northern Ireland. This probably means that we are going to visit this island in the expansion and that it might be important for the story.<\/p>\n

The big part of the story will also be working with Irish kings and providing your services as mercenaries. It has been confirmed that at the start of the expansion we will be joining Flann Sinna the High King of Ireland in his war campaign. Apparently, he will be one of the central figures of the expansion.<\/p>\n

A lot of the side missions will probably be providing services to the local people and helping establish good relations between the two nations and securing trading routes.<\/p>\n

The leaked images reveal several new weapons and armours types coming with Wrath of Druids DLC.<\/p>\n

The most exciting one is the sickle, which has been confirmed as a new weapon based on these leaked images.<\/p>\n

One image is showing a member of the Children of Danu attacking Eivor with it, while another leaked image shows Eivor herself wearing a sickle.<\/p>\n

We can also see Eivor wielding a brand new bone-inspired type of spear and several new armour sets which look decorated with some Irish ornaments.<\/p>\n
