The moment has arrived. After more than seven months since the release of Set 4 of Teamfight Tactics<\/a>: Fates, and its expansion of the Festival of Beasts, it is time to say goodbye to this and make way for a new one full of chaos and destruction.<\/p>\n

With the arrival of Patch 11.9, the official start of Set 5: Reckoning<\/a> has been marked, bringing with it many changes which you can review in this article, so in case you have not been able to try it on the PBE or you live under a rock, you will be more than prepared.<\/p>\n

Patch 11.9: Bon voyage Fates<\/h2>\n

As we mentioned before, with the release of this new update, the Fates set will now be sent into the Legacy Vault, meaning some major features like the Chosen champions, most of its traits and champions, and its Battle Pass rewards and in-game content will not be available from today.<\/p>\n

Patch 11.9: Bienvenue to the Reckoning<\/h2>\n

Now moving onto the main feature of this patch, the much-awaited Set 5 of Teamfight Tactics: Reckoning will finally make its debut, coming with lots of new features that will bring a fresh and even destructive look to the whole game mode.<\/p>\n

Let’s see the main changes this set will bring<\/p>\n

Champion & traits changes<\/h3>\n

A total of 27 traits will be part of the game’s new metagame, bringing with it also a massive 58 champions. Some of the champions and traits from the Fates set and other previous sets will make their reappearance, but with big twists into their bonuses and abilities.<\/p>\n

As always, many new units will also make their debut into TFT, some even with strange but quite interesting features.<\/p>\n

Shadow Items<\/h3>\n

As the Fates had the Chosen champions, and the Galaxies set had its rotating galaxies, the main mechanic of Reckoning will be known as Shadow Items, special items that grant powerful bonuses to the items you build, if you use one of these to complete them.<\/p>\n

However, these will not be that easy to maintain in battle, as the bonuses of these cursed items will have effects that can affect its wielder or even your other units and enemies around.<\/p>\n

These special items will appear as a normal item on the Carousel and in each of the second stages of Round 2, 3, and 4 of the game. You can learn more about these, along with the whole list of variants available, in our Shadow Items guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n

TFT Labs<\/h2>\n

As part of a new experimental feature, a new section will be added into the TFT game modes called Labs, whereas with the LoL rotative modes, players will have the chance to try on special matches with rules different to a normal game.<\/p>\n

For this patch, the first of these Labs will be focused on the Hyper Roll mechanic, where players have to focus on rerolling and getting the best units possible in less time, but with no gold income or levelling enabled.<\/p>\n

This game mode will be available throughout a big part of the Reckoning set, so you can enjoy this experimental lab with faster games and less worry whenever you want.<\/p>\n

TFT Reckoning Pass<\/h3>\n

Finally, a new Battle Pass with lots of rewards for all players will be available from Day 1 of the Set 5, lasting up to three months until the release of a new expansion for the Reckoning set.<\/p>\n

There will be plenty of free rewards for those who cannot purchase the Pass at the moment, however, if you have a chance to get it, it will be available in the in-game store for a price of 1,295 RP.<\/p>\n
