Former Smash pro ZeRo has made a public statement since a suicide attempt in March<\/a>, thanking fans for their “beautiful messages” via a post on his Instagram.<\/p>\n

ZeRo was reportedly hospitalised after the attempt and this is believed to be the first time he has communicated with fans.<\/p>\n

He wrote: “Thank you, everyone, for the beautiful messages and birthday wishes.”<\/p>\n

Continuing: “Life has been insane. I’m posting something this week to update you guys. I’m sorry for concerning everyone. I feel really guilty and bad about it. Take care, everyone.”<\/p>\n

ZeRo was one of the most celebrated Super Smash Bros. players of all time, a serial winner and record-breaker with prize winnings of over US$100,000. He later became one of the game’s biggest content creators with a thriving community on Twitch.<\/p>\n

However, after admitting to sexting minors in June of last year during a time when countless figures in Smash and the wider gaming community were being accused of sexual misconduct, he lost many of the trappings of his success; dropped from his esport organisation, Tempo Storm<\/a>, and banned from Twitch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

ZeRo’s plans for the future remain unknown but news of his improved health can only be a good thing. ZeRo has promised to update fans later this week with more information.<\/p>\n
