Smash Melee<\/a> has endured the COVID-19 pandemic better than almost any other fighting game thanks to its dedicated passionate community that has updated the almost 20-year-old game to modern standards, introducing netplay and eventually rollback netcode.<\/p>\n

With this in mind, tournaments have maintained a sense of relevancy few other, events like the Summit Champions League have made their return, and will reward pros with spots for the upcoming Summit 11<\/a> invitational.<\/p>\n

After three weeks of competition in the SCL, the final 16 players will battle it out for a total of six Summit 11 spots. Here’s how it’s going to go down.<\/p>\n

Summit Champions League playoffs – Schedule and format<\/h2>\n

The event will kick off this upcoming 9th May<\/strong> at 11:00am PT\/7:00pm GMT<\/strong>, with the entire bracket played on that same day.<\/p>\n

Players have been put into winners or losers bracket according to their final placement during the first three weeks of play, with Justin “Wizzrobe” Hallett, Zain Naghmi, and Joseph “Mang0” Marquez as top seeds due to winning previous events.<\/p>\n

Summit Champions League playoffs – Prize pool<\/h2>\n

SCL Playoffs feature a $4,000 prize pool, with the winner of the event taking home $1,600. <\/p>\n

More importantly, however, is the fact that the Top 6 placed players will qualify for Smash Summit 11, joining William “Leffen” Hjelte and Masaya “aMSa” Chikamoto who were directly invited to the event.<\/p>\n
