As Call of Duty<\/a> esports fans watched the LA Thieves vs Florida Mutineers match in the upper bracket of the CDL Stage 3 Major<\/a>, a comment from 100 Thieves CEO Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag on Twitter received quite a lot of traction. During the match, in which LA Thieves ended up losing 3-1, Nadeshot commented that his team was “throwing”, and this isn’t really something an owner should say while a match is still going on. <\/p>\n

LA Thieves “throwing” at CDL Stage 3 Major?<\/h2>\n

The term “throwing” means a team is either purposefully losing a match, or alternatively, a team is losing a match they shouldn’t by making out-of-character mistakes.<\/p>\n

While Nadeshot clearly meant the latter, the 100 Thieves and LA Thieves owner took to Twitter<\/a> to throw a comment out there…while the match was still going on, and LA Thieves still had a chance of beating Florida Mutineers. <\/p>\n

Following the comment of “Man, we are throwing. So many small mistakes”, Nadeshot followed up shortly afterwards by explaining why he made this comment during a CDL Stage 3 Major match.<\/p>\n

Nadeshot explains his “throwing” comment: “This tweet was a little out of pocket as an owner of the team mid-series. It’s hard to balance in my own head as a former player watching these matches, I get a little too competitive. I’m off Call of Duty Twitter until the end of the major.”<\/p>\n

Nadeshot clearly didn’t mean anything bad by the “throwing” comment and it appears to have been a spur-of-the-moment tweet as his team, LA Thieves was losing against Florida Mutineers.<\/p>\n

The Florida Mutineers owner, Ben Spoont, also responded<\/a> to the tweet.<\/p>\n

It appears Nadeshot won’t make the same type of comment during a match again, as he plans to stay off Call of Duty Twitter until the end of the CDL Stage 3 Major.<\/p>\n
