The Wailing Caverns, the second Hearthstone<\/a> mini-set of 2021, is just around the corner and Blizzard has started revealing the new cards from the set.<\/p>\n

The first three cards were revealed via Hearthstone’s Instagram account, with a nice story mini-game, with fans needing to set cards free from ice, vine, and rocks.<\/p>\n

And behind those obstacles a set of three “Dungeoneer” cards has been revealed, all being Night Elves.<\/p>\n

Without further ado, let’s check what they do.<\/p>\n

The Wailing Caverns new Dungeoneer cards<\/h2>\n

Frostweave Dungeoneer is a new Rare Mage Minion.<\/p>\n

It costs 3 mana, with 2\/3 stats, and it has a Battlecry that reads: Draw a spell. If it’s a Frost spell, summon two 1\/1 Elementals that Freeze.<\/p>\n

It is a card that supports several archetypes, but mostly introduces more synergy for Mage’s Freeze cards, which are good on their own, but there aren’t many synergies in regards to their school (Frost).<\/p>\n

It is definitely a strong card, and if you can consistently trigger its Battlecry, it can provide a lot of tempo.<\/p>\n

Primal Dungeoneer has the same theme around Spell Schools, a new mechanic from the Barrens, which is underused in the current meta.<\/p>\n

This card essentially draws (and tutors) two cards for 3 mana while providing a 2\/3 body, which is crazy good, only remains to be seen if that’s enough to save Shamans, currently the worst class in the game.<\/p>\n

Finally, Devout Dungeoneer is a Priest Rare Minion which draws a spell, and if it’s a Holy spell, the price will be reduced by two.<\/p>\n

We think that this one is the weakest out of all three Dungeoneer cards, but that doesn’t mean that it is a bad card. It has good stats and a strong effect, but Priest already has a lot of ways to discount spells, thus we are not sure if they need more of that.<\/p>\n

Instead, Blizzard should provide them with some kind of a reliable win condition, as that’s where they lack the most.<\/p>\n
