Psyonix, Rocket League’s developers and esports league organisers, allegedly contacted community personalities on 8th June to talk about smurfing for content, Clover Talent’s Matt “Kovalo” reported.

“You cannot intentionally de-rank, throw your placements, start from a new account (regardless of any handicaps or challenges you give yourself on the climb up)”, the now-deleted tweet read.

Later in the day, Psyonix clarified that “starting from a new account is fine” for content.

“As long as you are not intentionally throwing matches or doing anything to abuse the matchmaking system and lowering your rank”, the Talent Manager shared the update.

Everyone from Rocket Sledge and MJ “Widow” to Woody and Treyven “Lethamyr” Robitaille reacted to the information now being shared publicly, with the latter being guilty on several accounts.

Leth has two versions of the Road to Supersonic Legend series in the 2v2 and 3v3 formats, the Standard version wrapping up only two days before Psyonix reached out to creators.
