Brazil’s Arthur Melo has, since his youth, been a highly regarded player. Making his debut at Brazilian side Grêmio, he quickly garnered a reputation as a fantastic technician and an accomplished passer earning comparisons with Andrés Iniesta and Thiago.

He quickly caught the eye of Europe’s leading clubs and it would be FC Barcelona that would swoop in for the youngster, picking him up before the start of the ’18-19 season.

His time in Barcelona was short-lived though, as he was used in part for the transfer of Juventus’ Miralem Pjanić to the Spanish club, his first season with the Italian club was a success though and, in his first season, he made 32 appearances for the Old Lady.

He is back in Brazil for the summer though, as he hopes to help his nation win the Copa América on home soil. He will be a key player in a young team, and many will look to Arthur to be the lynchpin in the middle of the park.

To honour his status as one of Brazil’s top talents, EA Sports has seen to honour him in FIFA 21 with a Festival of FUTball card, offering up boosted stats that make him one of the best centre-midfielders in the game.
