from tournament organizers giving top seeds extra time to get to their pools, even if it means delaying their events, to <a href=\"https:\/\/dotesports.com\/fgc\/news\/hungrybox-evo-coaching-contoversy-15916\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">finding ridiculous ways<\/a> in which they can circumvent their own rules to avoid DQ&#8217;ing an important personality.<\/p>\n<p>One thing the top player privilege membership doesn&#8217;t cover (mainly because before the COVID-19 pandemic there was no need to) is tournament registration, as most majors don&#8217;t have strict entry caps like the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/ceo-2021-how-to-register-watch-schedule-featured-titles\">Community Effort Orlando<\/a> (CEO) does, a situation that has left many important figures within the Smash and fighting games communities without a spot to compete.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/dipAaFzpLUOR98ARQ5BZ3D8L9t6qXVspnMUXdYAmKrc\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9TbWFzaC9nZW5lc2lzXzdfbWFyc3MuanBn\" alt=\"Marss wants top player privilege registration\" width=\"1024\" height=\"640\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">Marss celebrates winning Genesis 7 (Picture: Genesis_Smash)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Naturally, as a tentpole within the FGC, CEO making its offline comeback this December is a huge deal, with spots for titles such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/smash-ultimate\">Smash Bros Ultimate<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/street-fighter-5\">Street Fighter V<\/a>, Mortal Kombat 11, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/tekken\">Tekken 7<\/a>, and the recently released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/guilty-gear\">Guilty Gear Strive<\/a>, filling up faster than you can press F5.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a result of seeing many players miss out on a CEO spot, Smash Ultimate pro and Panda rep Tyler &#8220;Marss&#8221; Martins sparked controversy by claiming there should be top player privilege when registering for tournaments to avoid &#8220;0-2ers&#8221; filling the event.<\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\" style=\"display: flex; The number of players is divided into multiple titles, with Ultimate and Strive having the most spots, 768 each. As a viewer, of course, you want the chance to have the best players in the world popping up on stream, but is the cost of gatekeeping what are essentially grassroots events just to make this happen worth it?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One of the most notable pros to have missed out on CEO is Smash Ultimate&#8217;s Leonardo &#8220;MkLeo&#8221; L&oacute;pez.
