Heading into 2017, renowned AWPer Ladislav &#8220;GuardiaN&#8221; Kovacs named the young Dane <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hltv.org\/news\/19570-top-20-players-of-2016-guardian-17\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">as a potential breakout star<\/a> for the upcoming year.<\/p>\n<p>North were a fierce opponent in 2017 as the ex-Dignitas squad sat comfortably in the top five and bolstered their roster with Philip &#8220;aizy&#8221; Aistrup early in the year. By August, valde had entered the lions&#8217; den to replace Emil &#8220;Magisk&#8221; Reif.<\/p>\n<div data-oembed-url=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=471920353189411\">\n<div class=\"iframely-embed\">\n<div class=\"iframely-responsive\" style=\"padding-bottom: 56%;\"><iframe allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen=\"\" src=\"\/\/cdn.iframe.ly\/api\/iframe?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fwatch%2F%3Fv%3D471920353189411&amp;key=c1d6fd555150b457f577d7801d51b45c&amp;v=1&amp;app=1\" style=\"border: 0px none;\">#WelcomeValde<\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\" src=\"\/\/cdn.iframe.ly\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>On Denmark&#8217;s second best roster, valde was given the chance to let everyone hear his roar.<\/p>\n<p>A disappointing run the ELEAGUE Major Boston saw Ren&eacute; &#8220;cajunb&#8221; Borg and Kristian &#8220;k0nfig&#8221; Wienecke removed from the roster, replaced by North Academy AWPer Daniel &#8220;mertz&#8221; Mertz and the surprise addition of Astralis&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=S3r17btPAIU\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">young talent Markus &#8220;Kjaerbye&#8221; Kj&aelig;rbye<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Poor results saw North&#8217;s stability shaken, with roster moves constantly throughout 2018.
