While there will be an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/battlefield-2042-release-date-open-beta-trailer-gameplay-battle-pass-more\">Open Beta for Battlefield 2042<\/a> ahead of its release, and those who pre-order get Early Access to it, we know fans of the Battlefield franchise would absolutely love to get into the game as soon as humanly possible. That&#8217;s where the Battlefield 2042 Technical Playtest comes in, and we&#8217;ve got the release date for this test, and instructions on how to register!<\/p>\n<h2>Battlefield 2042 Technical Playtest: Release date and sessions<\/h2>\n<p>The Battlefield 2042 Technical Playtest was supposed to take place in July this year but EA and DICE delayed it a bit to test <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/battlefield\/will-battlefield-2042-have-crossplay-ea-confirms-cross-platform-play-for-pc-and-consoles\">the game&#8217;s cross-play functionality<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.videogameschronicle.com\/news\/battlefield-2042-technical-playtest-dates-and-pc-requirements-revealed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">report by VGC<\/a>, email invites distributed by publisher Electronic Arts, the release date of the Battlefield 2042 Technical Playtest has now been revealed, alongside the number of sessions.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/4XgL6X0x00dHdPCnbIi-amqblTq-feyjiLker00wCpA\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9CYXR0bGVmaWVsZC9CYXR0bGVmaWVsZF8yMDQyL0JhdHRsZWZpZWxkXzIwNDJfZ2FtZXBsYXkuanBnP190PTE2MjMyNDY0MzI\" alt=\"Battlefield 2042 technical playtest release date how to register sessions sign up\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">Lucky players will dive into the Technical Playtest starting on 12th August. (Picture: EA \/ DICE)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The release date for the Battlefield 2042 Technical Playtest, according to the aforementioned report, is 12th August 2021. This test will run until 15th August, but it won&#8217;t be continuous.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the Battlefield 2042 Technical Playtest will feature five sessions of three hours each, and one session clocking in at nine (9) hours.<\/p>\n<h2>How to register for Battlefield 2042 Technical Playtest<\/h2>\n<p>The Battlefield 2042 Technical Playtest should not be considered even close to the full game or upcoming beta experience. It is more for testing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/battlefield\/will-battlefield-2042-have-crossplay-ea-confirms-cross-platform-play-for-pc-and-consoles\">cross-play<\/a> between PC and PS5 as well as Xbox Series S\/X consoles.<\/p>\n<p>It is also just for &#8220;a small group of participants&#8221; so the chances of getting in are not great. (Picture: EA \/ DICE)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Follow the steps below to register for a chance at the Battlefield 2042 Technical Playtest:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create an EA Account if you don&#8217;t have one already.<\/li>\n<li>Head to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ea.arcsivr.com\/Portal\/EA-CTE\/Default\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">EA Community Playtesting website<\/a> and update your profile.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for EA or DICE to contact you if you are accepted into one of the sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In a blog post earlier this year, EA and DICE explain what the Technical Playtest is all about: &#8220;A few thousand participants will join us to help us test some of our new features and functionality that we&rsquo;re building from the ground up for Battlefield 2042.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Do keep in mind that the Technical Playtest is purposefully not intended to be the full experience you will see in the Open Beta, or at launch.
