As is tradition, a new season in Call of Duty: Warzone means a tonne of new content, from new POIs to brand-new weapons (Tec-9 SMG and the EM2 AR), a shiny new battle pass, and much more. With so much to do, including unlocking new prestige levels and rewards, Warzone Season 5 is certainly packed with content.

Each season, and every update, we continually rank Warzone’s arsenal from best to worst in our gun tier lists. Here we are looking at light-machine guns (LMGs), though we have you equally covered if you prefer to run an assault rifle or submachine gun.

But if going big is the way you roll in Verdansk, then you are in the right place – here are Warzone Season 5’s LMGs ranked from best to worst.

Please note: There are no balance changes at the start of Warzone Season 5. These are coming “in the near future”. The meta, however, has shifted quite a lot.

Light-machine guns are high capacity, high RPM killing machines. Possessing good range, and high damage output these guns aren’t exactly light and thus mobility usually is affected.

Best paired with an SMG or marksmen rifle.

We always aim to make our tier lists as accurate as possible, however, the developer can choose to either nerf or buff weapons throughout the season as well. When this occurs, we will update our LMG tier list accordingly.

Keeping its place at the top of the LMG tier list at the start of Warzone Season 5 is the PKM. Featuring attachments that can make recoil super easy to control and having an insanely fast TTK makes the PKM the undisputed LMG king.

The MG34 moves down one spot as it can’t compete with the PKM in the S-Tier. It is joined by other great LMGs in our Warzone Season 5 tier list, from the M60 to the ever-popular Bruen MK9 and the good old FiNN.

The MG 82 has been popular for quite some time but has dropped off a bit in Warzone Season 5. Joined by the Stoner 63 and the M91, these are middle-of-the-road LMGs that can still do the job well with the best possible loadout.

Due to comparatively low mobility and high recoil, the SA87 and M91 aren’t all that great. You would be better off going with one of the other LMGs at the start of Warzone Season 5 from the upper tiers.

The poor old Holger-26 simply doesn’t cut it. You would be much better off going for one of the other LMGs at the start of Warzone Season 5, as this one is simply the worst.

Disagree with our list? We don’t care. To be more disappointed, why not check out our assault rifle, shotgun, SMG, tactical rifle and sniper rifle tier list.

Warzone Season 5 LMG tier list
