Diablo 2 Resurrected’s open beta testing has just started and players are reporting a number of issues during the first few hours of the beta.<\/p>\n

Players on Xbox are being troubled with the “Failed to authenticate<\/a>” error message, while players on all platforms from Europe are barely able to play the game as the servers are currently overloaded.<\/a><\/p>\n

And even those players who have managed to enter the game, are still encountering a myriad of bugs and annoying issues.<\/p>\n

Amongst many annoyances, one particularly problematic for those who are playing with friends is the fact that the Diablo 2 Resurrected text chat is not working.<\/p>\n

A lot of beta players are reporting that they have been encountering issues with the Diablo 2 Resurrected text chat not working.<\/p>\n

Some are saying that it works “from time to time”, others are saying that they can only read character emotes, but not to send messages or read anything else, while on some consoles it seems that text chat is completely disabled during the open beta.<\/p>\n

Players are able to open the chat box and type their message, but once they press enter to send that message, the box simply closes and it appears that the message hasn’t been sent.<\/p>\n

This is a big problem for people who play in a group with friends or strangers, as proper coordination is practically impossible without text chat.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, as with many other problems during the first beta day, it seems that this is simply a bug that Blizzard needs to fix, and currently, there are no known DIY workarounds to somehow fix this issue.<\/p>\n

Text chat will simply work and then stop working randomly. Sometimes it will work perfectly fine, while sometimes it will be dead. If we encounter some proven and working way to bypass this issue, we will immediately update the article.<\/p>\n
