{"id":20750,"date":"2021-08-16T17:08:57","date_gmt":"2021-08-16T17:08:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/warzone-season-5-weapon-buffs-and-nerfs-all-balance-changes"},"modified":"2024-07-20T01:27:22","modified_gmt":"2024-07-20T01:27:22","slug":"warzone-season-5-weapon-buffs-and-nerfs-all-balance-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/call-of-duty\/warzone-season-5-weapon-buffs-and-nerfs-all-balance-changes","title":{"rendered":"Warzone Season 5 weapon buffs and nerfs: All balance changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/call-of-duty\/warzone-season-5-red-doors-all-locations-secret-rooms-destinations-and-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Warzone Season 5<\/a> started on Friday last week, but the game&#8217;s developer Raven Software has decided to postpone balance changes for a few days.<\/p>\n<p>The weekend has passed and a balance update is already here, with the 16th August update for Warzone, focused exclusively on weapon balance changes for the battle royale.<\/p>\n<p>And it looks like the Season 5 balance changes aren&#8217;t as big as some players might have wanted them to be, as Raven states that they are &#8220;generally pleased&#8221; with the meta.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/pEzVwqJqu2ftqAIU6cmZ9eM3pAumPRjRLs3qBXoYDUs\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9XYXJ6b25lLzFhX3NlYXNvbl81L1dhcnpvbmVBbnRpY2hlYXRfaW5zaWRlXzEuanBn\" alt=\"Warzone Season 5 weapon buffs and nerfs: All balance changes\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">Raven believes that the current meta is relatively healthy. (Picture: Activision(<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;We are generally pleased with the state of balance and we do not think anything needs to be immediately addressed,&#8221; Raven states. &#8220;However, we do feel there are some outliers in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/call-of-duty\/warzone-ar-tier-list-every-assault-rifle-ranked-from-best-to-worst-for-season-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Assault Rifle category<\/a> that have been top tier long enough that it is now appropriate to reduce their power level to give other weapons some time in the spotlight. Those changes will be coming very soon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Warzone 16th August update comes with only one change in the assault rifle category, which means that we may expect more balance changes for ARs to come later this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The AS VAL comes with a small damage nerf, as Raven states that it has one of the fastest TTKs.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/call-of-duty\/warzone-smg-tier-list-every-submachine-gun-ranked-from-best-to-worst-for-season-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the SMG category<\/a>, the MP5 has received a few damage nerfs, but it also gets an Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased, to reward players who are better at hitting the right places. While its magazine capacity does hold it back, its TTK potential has remained well outside of the range we have been targeting.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; box-sizing: border-box;\">Subma<\/span><span style=\"border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; box-sizing: border-box;\">chine <\/span><span style=\"border: 0px; font: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; box-sizing: border-box;\">Guns<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Fennec (MW)\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>Bullet Velocity increased by 13.4%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Fennec (MW) has struggled to gain footing due to some glaring weaknesses. This change will make the Fennec (MW) viable at slightly further distances.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>MP5 (MW)\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>Maximum Damage decreased from 34 to 31<\/li>\n<li>Maximum Damage Range decreased by 5.4%<\/li>\n<li>Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This change is intended to place some of the power of the Submachine Gun Charlie (MW) behind a mechanical requirement &#8211; making it a little less forgiving.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>OTs 9 (BOCW)\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>ADS Weapon Sway decreased<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When making large, sweeping motions while aiming down sights with the OTs 9 (BOCW), players could find most of their front iron sights obstructed by the rear iron sights.
