The Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 patch brought several major changes to the game, including new POIs, a new Gulag, several new modes, as well as two new powerful, high-calibre weapons: the EM2 Assault Rifle and the TEC-9 Submachine Gun.

Earlier this week Activision also made several weapon balance changes and even released another new “broken” weapon to the game: the Marshal pistol shotgun. But that’s not all that’s broken. JGOD recently revealed an accidental change to the Fennec SMG that gives it an overpowered bullet velocity in Warzone Season 5.

The following loadout was used in JGOD’s latest YouTube video to ultimately test whether the Fennec had hitscan, following its broken update to the weapon’s bullet velocity. Although the weapon does not actually have hitscan, it certainly feels as though it does.

The Monolithic Suppressor is an integral attachment that can be used for sound suppression. This attachment will also damage range for maximal kill potential during medium-to-long-range combat.

Recoil control is particularly important on this SMG. JGOD used the ZLR 16″ Apex Barrel attachment to bolster the Fennec’s damage range, recoil control and bullet velocity. You can further bolster recoil and aiming stability with the Commando Foregrip.

Arguably one of the more important pickups is the 40 Round Drum Mags to ensure that you have enough bullets to take down enemies.

Finally, we’ve ended off with the VLK 3.0 Optic to provide 3.0 x magnification for those close range engagements.

JGOD admitted that the Fennec actually slipped underneath his radar since the weapon balance changes were not thought to be all that significant.

The official patch notes indicated that the Fennec (MW) bullet velocity increased by 13.4% which translated to an increase from 217 to about 250.

As a result of not actually testing the “negligible” increase in bullet velocity on the Fennec, JGOD failed to notice that Activision mistakenly increased bullet velocity by 1340% instead of 13.40%.

“Inevitably, it ends up giving [the Fennec] something that we would call hitscan, even though in reality it’s not hitscan. The bullet velocity is just closer to 2 or 3 thousand, which is just insanely fast,” JGOD said.

You can watch JGOD’s video embedded below for a full rundown on the topic. In the video, JGOD also shows exactly how overpowered (and broken) the Fennec is, following the accidental balance change.

Overpowered Fennec gunsmith class setup in Warzone Season 5
