First of all, you should keep in mind that Diablo 2 Resurrected has just been released, and many errors, bugs, and glitches are to be expected.<\/p>\n

The second thing, despite technically being a 20-year-old game, this is a new release nonetheless, a remastered version of Diablo 2 with significantly improved graphics, network code, and a lot of other things under the hood.<\/p>\n

The game has been modernized and optimized to run on contemporary operating systems and consoles, which means that many things in the game’s code have been changed.<\/p>\n

Why are we mentioning this? Because, the old PC you have been playing Diablo 2 on, might not be strong enough to run Diablo 2 Resurrected, and that’s why the game is crashing.<\/p>\n

Another thing that might be the issue is that you don’t have up-to-date drivers, which can cause games to crash.<\/p>\n

Here’s what you should do in that case, as explained by Blizzard:<\/p>\n

  1. Press Windows<\/strong> + R<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Type DxDiag and click OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. After the DirectX Diagnostic Tool loads, click the Display<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
  4. The video card’s name and manufacturer are listed in the Device section. The current driver version is listed in the Driver section.<\/li>\n
  5. Visit the driver manufacturer’s website to obtain the most up-to-date driver.<\/li>\n
  6. Contact the driver manufacturer for assistance with updating the driver. If the computer is under warranty, contact the computer manufacturer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Finally, it should be noted that Diablo II: Resurrected has no Windows 7<\/strong> support and you will not be able to play the game on that or any older Windows version. If you want to play Diablo 2 Resurrected, you need to have at least Windows 8 installed.<\/p>\n
