Video games and wrestling have crossed paths on more than one occasion, especially when it comes to WWE performers showing off their passion for gaming, with none other than John Cena doing so during this past SummerSlam.

We’ve previously seen performers like Thea Trinidad (formerly known as Zelina Vega) show up donning an incredible cosplay during WWE’s biggest party of the summer, Sombra from Overwatch, back in 2020, and while Cena wasn’t dressed as anyone, his entrance graphics and new merchandise feature a designed inspired by the revered Super Mario Bros 3 artwork.

John Cena, who returned to the WWE to feature in a program with Roman Reigns, which culminated in the main event of SummerSlam with the Tribal Chief coming out on top, entered the ring alongside a unique titantron and new sleuth of merchandise, featuring an animated version of himself stylised with uncanny similarity to the Super Mario Bros 3 logo.
