After more than 10 years of hiatus (if we don’t count Travis Strikes Again), No More Heroes is finally back with the third game in the main series.<\/p>\n

Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, the studio behind all the games in the series, No More Heroes 3 releases for Nintendo Switch this August. The developers promise to stay true to the gameplay formula of the old games, enriched with several new and innovative mechanics.<\/p>\n

No More Heroes 3 takes place nine years after No More Heroes 2 and two years after Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes.<\/p>\n

Travis has returned to Santa Destroy from years of self-imposed exile, and there he finds an enormous flying object high above the city.<\/p>\n

It turns out that an alien named FU has joined forces with a certain Damon Ricotello, now a grown-up man, but once a boy who saved FU over 20 years ago, when he was just an alien larva.<\/p>\n

Together, these two now want to conquer Earth, but you will put a stop to their plans and, of course, save the world.<\/p>\n

In order to do that, you will need to fight against an unbelievably powerful army of aliens and climb the Galactic Superhero Rankings.<\/p>\n

Just like the previous games in the mainline No More Heroes series, No More Heroes 3 is a third-person action-adventure with hack and slash elements.<\/p>\n

And just like in the other games, we play as Travis Touchdown, the legendary assassin whose task is to climb to the top of the Galactic Superhero Rankings.<\/p>\n

The game marks a return to the open-world formula seen in the first game, but unlike the first title, here there won’t be a completely open world, rather a set of five unique islands, including the fictional city of Santa Destroy, which is a staple location of the series.<\/p>\n

You will be able to travel around (and between) these islands either with Travis’ legendary motorcycle, the Demzamtiger, or via a fast-travel system.<\/p>\n

When it comes to combat, the series’ signature Beam Katana is back, alongside various combo and wrestling moves you can perform. A new addition is the so-called Death Glove, an unstoppable charging attack that can be customized with the skill tree.<\/p>\n

Your main goal is to fight alien bosses and progress through the Galactic Superhero Rankings. But that costs money, and so you will need to do various side activities in order to earn cash for your participation fee.<\/p>\n
