A new series based around League of Legends<\/a> esports titled ‘Players’ is now in development, as announced by Riot Games and streaming service Paramount+<\/a><\/p>\n

This new series will be co-created and executive produced by Peabody Award winners, Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault, the same pair in charge of the 2017 mockumentary hit series ‘American Vandal’<\/a>, which ran for two seasons exclusively on Netflix.<\/p>\n

According to the synopsis revealed on their press release<\/a>, ‘Players’ will be a comedic documentary-style series that will explore the world of esports, by telling the story of a fictional LoL team as they pursue their first LCS championship after years of close calls and heartaches.<\/p>\n

So to win it all, they will need their prodigy, a 17-year-old rookie, and their 27-year-old veteran to put their egos aside and work together.<\/p>\n

Looking at the concept released about the series, this is something often seen in many leagues and teams around the world, as rookies and veterans always share the stage fighting to rise above the rest and try to become champions, although it’s unknown how they will approach this angle.<\/p>\n

The series will also be produced by CBS Studios in association with Riot Games, and as revealed by LCS commissioner Chris Greeley during an interview with Travis Gafford, all LCS teams will be featured as well throughout the series, so expect some interesting cameos from famous players and content creators.<\/p>\n

So far, neither its cast members nor its release date has been revealed, so we will have to wait sometime to get more updates around this curious but interesting project.<\/p>\n
