The Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 patch update saw several changes made to the game, including new content, POIs and even new weapons like the Tec-9 Submachine Gun (SMG) and the EM2 Assault Rifle (AR). There were also some significant weapon balance changes that saw popular weapons like the CR-56 AMAX drop off, only to be replaced by new meta picks, like the Stoner 63 LMG.

Following a shift in tournament formats from lobbies to Customs, several pros have now also raised their concerns about certain weapons becoming too overpowered under these settings. In particular, pros have singled out the Gallo SA12, Kar98, Swiss K31 and particularly, the Stoner 63, to be banned at upcoming events.

Warzone pro player, Unrational, called the Stoner 63 the “biggest bailout gun”. The pro voiced his concern on Twitter, saying: “Why is everyone getting the Kar banned out of these tournaments.” Other pros, like Newbz and ScummN concurred with Unrational’s sentiment, agreeing that the weapon should be banned.
