Electronic Arts and Respawn are more than happy with how everything went during the inaugural year of Apex Legends Global Series.<\/p>\n

The final event, the ALGS Championship, saw 170 of the very best Apex Legends teams from all around the world competing for a chance to be crowned champions and earn their share of a $2.5 million prize pool.<\/p>\n

The battle royale fans had a chance to enjoy watching some of the best Apex Legends matches to date, and eventually, 5 regional ALGS Champions were crowned: Bottom 20 (North America), SCARZ Europe (EMEA), WOLFPACK ARCTIC (APAC South), FENNEL Korea (APAC North), and Paradox Esports (South America).<\/p>\n

With competition being such a major success, EA is ready to make next year even better, and today they shared all the important details on what can we expect in Year 2 of the ALGS.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest changes is that console players will be allowed to compete alongside PC players.<\/p>\n

“To maintain competitive integrity, all controller players will be competing using PC-value aim assist settings, regardless of their platform,” EA explains.<\/p>\n

Apex Legends Global Series Year 2 format and schedule<\/h2>\n

Chronologically, Year 2 will be divided into two Splits, followed by the ALGS Championship in July 2022.<\/p>\n

The competition will have two main components, one is the ALGS Pro League and the other is a new addition, the Challenger Circuit in North America, EMEA, APAC South, APAC North, and South America.<\/p>\n

During each Split, teams from the Challenger Circuit will battle for a chance to join pro teams in the ALGS Pro League.<\/p>\n
