Halo Infinite may be missing some key features, like Forge and the co-op campaign, when it launches on 8th December but what is coming is sure looking promising, with all the noises coming out about the multiplayer component getting fans excited about Halo once again.<\/p>\n

From going free-to-play, adding cross-platform and cross-input play,<\/a> to an overhauled feel to the gameplay, PvP looks better than ever.<\/p>\n

To build on the hype 343 Industries has decided to showcase all the settings we can expect with the ranked\/competitive playlists, and it’s looking like another big win for Halo fans.<\/p>\n

During a quick stream on 15th October, followed up by a developer interview<\/a>, 343i explained what we can expect, not only from ranked playlists, but also the Halo Championship Series.<\/p>\n

In short, this is what the ranked playlist will feature:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • BR75 starts <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Motion Tracker disabled <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Grenade Hitmarkers disabled <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Slayer, CTF, Strongholds, and Oddball<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Friendly Fire will be turned on.<\/li>\n
  • Weapons, equipment, and grenades on maps will be set on static spawners meaning they will always appear in the same location on each map and mode combination, and will respawn at the same intervals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    It was also revealed that players will not spawn with a secondary weapon to incentivise scavenging and control of power weapons.<\/p>\n

    “We want power to be earned on the map and scavenging gameplay is super important for us to maintain even at the competitive level. If players have a full inventory of effective items off spawn, they may not need to contest for other items in the map,” explained lead multiplayer designer Andrew Witts.<\/p>\n

    Field upgrades will also be a part of competitive unlike Halo 3, including the much-hyped grappling hook. “Equipment in Halo needs to be an extension of the player’s skill, a way for them to utilize their mastery of Halo knowledge,” Elan Gleiber, sandbox designer, explained.<\/p>\n
