Animal Crossing<\/a> fans are now rejoicing, as Nintendo has confirmed<\/a> the release of a major free update for their Switch-exclusive title, Animal Crossing: New Horizons.<\/p>\n

New Horizons’ 2.0 update is set to be the last one for the game, so with this, Nintendo has sought to close the life cycle of their successful title in the best possible way, adding new features and content that many players have been asking for a long time.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at everything added into Animal Crossing: New Horizons in its 2.0 update.<\/p>\n

Enjoy some good coffee at The Roost<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Since its addition in Animal Crossing: Wild World, The Roost has become one of the most favourite places for the game’s community, where players can take a rest from managing their town or island, drink some coffee, and even interact with some characters.<\/p>\n

That said, this café will make its comeback for the first time since Animal Crossing: City Folk, being added into the New Horizons’s museum together with its lovely host Brewster, who will serve you some of his best selection for just 200 Bells.<\/p>\n

The Roost will also feature a new integration with amiibos, as players will be able to invite characters into the café using a special telephone to summon them, and also, players from all around the world can be invited to your island to spend some time nice and comfy.<\/p>\n

Take a Boat Tour with Kapp’n<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Another character who will also reappear in the franchise is Kapp’n, the famous green turtle known for his ability to drive various kinds of transport, and also for his great singing.<\/p>\n

Starting from the 2.0 update, Kapp’n will dock next to the pier on players’ islands, where he will let you travel across the ocean to new “mysterious islands” with different materials and plants to collect, and these may also have a different season or time of day. While travelling, he will also sing you some sea shanties.<\/p>\n

Visit Harv’s island and find great offers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Harv’s Island will undergo a massive overhaul, as this open market will now feature a bigger selection of stores, once you fund some of these with your Bells.<\/p>\n

Some of these shops include Re-Tail, where Reese and Cyrus will offer you furniture customization that can’t be done using DIY workbenches, Katrina who will look your fortune of the day, and Harriet who will bring 11 new hairstyles for your character.<\/p>\n

Tortimer, the former Animal Crossing town major, will also appear in Harv’s Island so you can have a good talk with him at any time.<\/p>\n

New activities featured in the 2.0 update<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A new group stretching task will be available in the Plaza, allowing players to use the Switch’s motion controls to stretch with their villagers and other players, meaning you can get up and stretch in the real world alongside your animals and online friends in the game.<\/p>\n

Players will also be able to grow lots of different crops and use them to create a variety of DIY recipes for food decorations, available as part of this major update.<\/p>\n

Island residents will have the ability to invite players to visit their homes, and they may also drop by players’ houses, just like in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.<\/p>\n

Also returning from New Leaf, town ordinances will be available from now on, meaning players will be able to change some rules on their islands, such as opening shops at earlier or later hours.<\/p>\n

Finally, players will find more uses for Nook Miles in the form of cooking, with the ability to plant crops like tomatoes, wheat, sugar cane, potatoes, carrots, and more to make into a recipe for a meal to eat or gift.<\/p>\n

Furniture updates and features<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As part of this new update, storage expansion services will be increased, giving players the chance to save up to 5,000 items, while a new storage shed can be placed anywhere on the island.<\/p>\n

Tom Nook will also offer new exterior styles for your house and also a new Nook Phone app called Island Life 101, which will give activity suggestions to new players and offer new furniture available to buy with Nook Miles.<\/p>\n

A new pro decorating license will be available as well, allowing players to put furniture like hanging lamps on ceilings and walls, and customize single walls with a different colour or style of wallpaper, to create an accent wall.<\/p>\n

With Brewster’s arrival, the Gyroids will also be back. This funny furniture can be planted and regrown to a large variety of styles that make interesting sounds. The music box will also be added to the game, along with the new K.K. Slider songs.<\/p>\n

Players will have the ability to put up ladders with a new set-up kit, allowing them to permanently place them on cliffs for ease of access in areas that are too small for inclines, and at last, the maximum number of bridges and inclines will be increased to 10.<\/p>\n

Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ 2.0 update will be available on 5th November.<\/p>\n
