Forza Horizon 5 will not only introduce players to a brand new Horizon experience in Mexico but it will also bring the series’ largest map to date. Massive in scope, there is plenty of racing action to cover but does it include cross-platform play support?<\/p>\n

Crossplay has become a standard inclusion in recent times, allowing players to play alongside each other across multiple gaming platforms. We finally answer this important question ahead of the release of Forza Horizon 5.<\/p>\n

Forza Horizon 5 crossplay support<\/h2>\n

So, the million-dollar question as to whether Forza Horizon 5 supports crossplay? According to the Forza Horizon 5 FAQ page<\/a>, the game indeed supports crossplay across Xbox consoles, PC and its cloud gaming ecosystem.<\/p>\n

For players who have purchased the game via Steam, crossplay will also be supported but will be locked out of the cross-save feature.<\/p>\n

If you just want to race against players only on the Xbox console or are concerned about players on PC having a leg up on the competition, there is a way to resolve this. To deactivate crossplay support on your Xbox console, players will need to navigate their way to the console’s settings to toggle specific options off.<\/p>\n

Head to the console’s settings, browse to the Account category and select the Privacy and Online Safety option. Players will need to select the Xbox Live Privacy option, then View Details and Customize and followed by Communications and Multiplayer options. Here, players can toggle off the setting “You can play with people outside Xbox Live” to prevent PC players from being added to matchmaking.<\/p>\n

Forza Horizon 5 cross-save support<\/h2>\n

Detailed in the Forza Horizon 5 FAQ page<\/a>, the developer has noted that the game includes cross-save support, irrespective of the platform they’re playing on. There is one exception as players who have purchased their copy via Steam will not have access to the feature.<\/p>\n

It doesn’t mean that they can’t play online as they enjoy the festivities with friends at the Horizon festival. However, they won’t be able to transfer game saves to any Xbox console from Steam.<\/p>\n

Forza Horizon 5 Xbox Play Anywhere<\/h2>\n

Furthermore, Forza Horizon 5 is also an Xbox Play Anywhere<\/a> game which was confirmed in the aforementioned Forza Horizon 5 FAQ page<\/a>. This feature has slowly gained traction with Xbox players over the years, players would be pleased to know that they can buy a copy of the game either on Xbox or PC and own it across both platforms immediately.<\/p>\n
