The Overwatch community has been hit with devastating news after the Philadelphia Fusion announced the passing of Kyung-bo “Alarm” Kim via social media, aged 20-years-old.

Alarm was held in high regard by the entire community, both for his incredible skills as flex support, earning him the Rookie of the Year award in 2020, but also as an inspirational opponent, teammate, and person.

“Alarm was the heart and soul of the organization, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as we mourn this tragic loss,” the statement reads.

Alarm was a pivotal figure in and out of the game for Philly Fusion for the past two seasons, but his ties with the organisation date back to 2018, when he was signed to Fusion University, playing in Contenders for two years until he was finally eligible to compete in OWL.

The flex support helped Fusion Uni become a formidable force within the Tier 2 scene, winning five major titles between 2018 and 2019, living up to the hype once he debuted in the Overwatch League the following year.
