Since Generation II, Scizor has been one of the most popular Pokémon in the franchise. Of course, this is in conjunction with Scyther, its first form evolution. What makes Scizor a better Pokémon, however, is its secondary typing that it receives upon evolving. The Steel-type is one of the most overpowered in the franchise and Scizor gains it along with the original Bug typing. <\/p>\n

To make matters better, Scyther is a Flying-type, so players can teach Scyther Flying moves and then evolve it into a Scizor, keeping those moves intact for extra coverage. This, plus some solid stats, makes Scizor a great addition to any roster in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl<\/a>. Although, players need to first know how to acquire the red bug in Sinnoh. <\/p>\n

Finding the Metal Coat in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl<\/h2>\n

In order to evolve Scyther into Scizor, you’ll need to find the Metal Coat item. This is a held item that you need to give to Scyther before trading it. Then, once you’ve traded the Scyther, it will evolve into a Scizor. <\/p>\n

To find the Metal Coat, you either need to get lucky or wait until you receive the National Pokédex. The lucky way is by catching a Magnemite and seeing if it’s holding the Metal Coat. This is a random chance and could take several catches in order to get the item that you’re looking for. <\/p>\n

If you don’t want to go through that trouble, then you can beat the story, Elite Four and see all 151 Pokémon in the regional dex to receive the National Pokédex from Professor Rowan\/Oak. After this happens, you can go to Iron Island and talk to Byron inside of Riley’s house. You will have also needed to take the Riolu egg from Riley after going through Iron Island with him. <\/p>\n

Through talking to Byron, you will receive the Metal Coat. From here, it’s just about finding someone to trade with so you can get the Scizor you’re after. <\/p>\n
