Football fans were smiling this weekend as, after the international break, domestic football was back on the menu.<\/p>\n

What was served up was of the highest quality too. Liverpool was at their very best with Diogo Jota <\/strong>grabbing two on the way to a 4-0 victory over Southampton. In a bizarre turn of events, Jota was actually playing in a FIFA 22<\/a> tournament that very day, telling his would-be opponent he’d have to skip the game to go play for Liverpool<\/a>.<\/p>\n

John McGinn<\/strong> kept Steven Gerrard happy scoring the winning goal to make that two wins out of two for the new Aston Villa manager.<\/p>\n

In Italy, Napoli’s Dries Me<\/strong>rtens<\/strong> proved he still has it at with a double to sink Lazio in another 4-0 win.<\/p>\n

And in Spain, Xavi’s rebuild of Barcelona continues, the Barcelona defence did their best to gift Villareal a win but luck was on their side, and so was Dutchmen Frenkie de Jong<\/strong>, who scored a goal and kept his team moving with the game ending 3-1 in Barca’s favour.<\/p>\n
