On 30th November, Activision introduced a new home for Warzone Pacific in its novel “paradise for combat,” Caldera<\/a>, referring to its dormant volcano.<\/p>\n

The announcement paralleled the reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard<\/a> Season 1 starting on 8th December and highlighted a menu of incredible feature additions to the game, including World War 2 fighter planes set to pepper the sky.<\/p>\n

Warzone Pacific fighter jets<\/h2>\n

According to the Call of Duty official blog post<\/a>, players that opt to play the Vanguard Royale<\/a> game mode in Warzone Pacific will have to “prepare for the action to heat up both on land and in the air.”<\/p>\n

Followingly, the developers announced two major feature additions that set the game mode apart from the traditional battle royale in their blog.<\/p>\n

Specifically, Activision has announced that Vanguard Royale will include new vehicles and dogfighting, meaning players can pilot fighter planes equipped with heavy artillery to eliminate their enemies in the game.<\/p>\n

Best of all, players on the ground will be able to find anti-aircraft weaponry and trucks that they can use to shoot aircraft down from the sky.<\/p>\n

“There are also other ground-based vehicles, including a Squad Transport all-terrain car that will help your squad cut through and around the island,” Activision noted.<\/p>\n

Another key feature is that Warzone Pacific’s Vanguard Royale will place a strong focus on Vanguard weapons. Activision notes that “loadouts can only contain Vanguard weaponry, streamlining the meta for more accessibility and room for experimentation.”<\/p>\n

This means that all weapons on the island will be from COD Vanguard and that players’ choice of Operators will also be limited to the Vanguard infantry soldiers.<\/p>\n

The developers further note that “the radii and times for Circle Collapses are altered to offer a different pace of play, especially with dogfighting overhead.”<\/p>\n

They continued to say that players can “expect an in-game event at each Circle Collapse, Bombing Runs, and different items both within Caldera’s overworld and contract rewards.”<\/p>\n

Together, these features are expected to create a unique “Vanguard-specific” experience, which may closely be reminiscent of the game’s intended World War 2 era.<\/p>\n
