Sea of Thieves Season 5<\/a> added Buried Treasures Commendations, a series of objectives for players to complete to earn rewards. The commendations make use of some of the new in-game features introduced in the latest content update.<\/p>\n

One of these commendations tasks players to use the Sitting feature as they make their way to the highest peak and watch the sunrise. This guide covers how players can complete this commendation, what time the sun rises in-game, and the rewards players can unlock.<\/p>\n

A New Day Commendation: how to complete<\/h2>\n

To complete this challenge, players will need to take a break from a life of being a pirate, sit back and relax atop the highest peak. Additionally, players will have to wait for a specific time of the day to complete the challenge.<\/p>\n

One of the requirements to complete the commendation is to watch the sunrise, so we recommend players to set their course for Old Faithful Isle within the region of The Wilds from whichever outpost they spawn. This island is located on the edge of M4 on your map<\/a> when visiting the Captain’s Quarters.<\/p>\n

Once players have arrived at Old Faithful Isle, locate the highest peak on the island before travelling on foot to the island’s centre, where you can spot a large entrance.<\/p>\n

Above this entrance is a sizable rock with a skeleton laying across the rock. Leap over this rock to reach the North West ledge, where a pop-up prompt will appear onscreen.<\/p>\n

The prompt will ask players to “Take in the view”, for which players can interact<\/a> by hitting X on the Xbox One controller or F\/R key on your keyboard if you’re using the default keybinds. All that’s left is to wait for the sun to rise and bask in the morning glory.<\/p>\n

As such, the sunrise occurs daily at 5 am server time, but it is important to note that the server time<\/a> is the same on every server worldwide.<\/p>\n

A New Day Commendation: rewards<\/h2>\n

After completing the A New Day Commendation, players will unlock the Party Boat Gloves cosmetic item, which is a part of the Party Boat cosmetic set. Additionally, this commendation will contribute to the Achievement progression players can unlock once all commendations have been completed.<\/p>\n

According to True Achievements, this Achievement, Beholder of Buried Treasures<\/a>, can only be awarded to players once all commendations have been completed. This will also reward players with 100 Gamerscore points.<\/p>\n
