Escape from Tarkov<\/a> is gearing up for its biggest update in a good while, with the release of the upcoming patch 12.12<\/a> introducing a brand new map, Lighthouse, new weapons and attachments, VOIP and new gameplay mechanics like inertia.<\/p>\n

It is an eagerly awaited update that will coincide with a character wipe, meaning all players’ progress will be deleted, and everyone will start afresh.<\/p>\n

A wipe in ETF is one of those bittersweet moments; on the one hand, you do lose all your progress, but with it being accompanied by a huge update, it offers everyone, from new and old players, the opportunity to start grinding from the same theoretical start point.<\/p>\n

When the character wipe was going to take place next in ETF has been the subject of much speculation, but it appears (some) confirmation has been given.<\/p>\n
