One of the most useful types in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl<\/a> is Ground. From mowing through Flint’s Elite Four team to decimating some Gym Leaders, like Byron, the Ground-type is in high demand when playing through Sinnoh. However, outside of Garchomp<\/a>, there aren’t too many powerful Ground-type Pokémon to catch. <\/p>\n

Of course, this changes when players get to the post-game of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The Pokédex opens up substantially, allowing players to catch more Pokémon than ever before. One Pokémon that some players might be looking for is Phanpy, a Generation II ‘mon that evolves into a powerful Ground-type. <\/p>\n

Below, players can find out exactly where to find Phanpy in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. <\/p>\n

To start, you will need to have beaten the main story of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and acquired the National Dex. You can acquire the upgrade version of the Pokédex from Professor Rowan after seeing all 150 Pokémon in the Sinnoh Dex. <\/p>\n

Once you have the National Dex, you need to head into the Grand Underground and find one of the following caves: Rocky Cave or Big Bluff Cavern. These are the only caves that you can find Phanpy spawning in the Grand Underground. <\/p>\n

If you enter the cave and don’t see Phanpy roaming around, exit the cave and re-enter to reset the spawns. Do this until you find Phanpy walking around, at which point you can run into it and attempt to catch it. <\/p>\n

After you catch Phanpy, you can evolve into the strong Donphan. The Phanpy you find will be around level 61, so all you need to do is level it up once to trigger the evolution into Donphan. <\/p>\n
