{"id":2603,"date":"2020-02-03T22:42:34","date_gmt":"2020-02-03T22:42:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/the-wonderful-101-remastered-reaches-kickstarter-goal"},"modified":"2024-07-20T00:58:55","modified_gmt":"2024-07-20T00:58:55","slug":"the-wonderful-101-remastered-reaches-kickstarter-goal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/video-games\/the-wonderful-101-remastered-reaches-kickstarter-goal","title":{"rendered":"The Wonderful 101: Remastered reaches $500k Kickstarter goal in two hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>PlatinumGames has launched a Kickstarter campaign for The Wonderful 101: Remastered<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The game is one of the last few Wii U titles&nbsp;yet to be ported to Switch<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The developer earned their three stretch goals within hours<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nThe Wonderful 101 is one of the last few Wii U exclusives yet to make it over to Nintendo Switch, although that&rsquo;s all been changed via a Kickstarter campaign.<\/p>\n<p>After teasing <a href=\"https:\/\/four.platinumgames.com\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">four announcements on their website<\/a>, PlatinumGames revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/platinumgames\/the-wonderful-101-remastered\/description\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">a kickstarter for The Wonderful 101: Remastered<\/a> &#8211; with a first goal for a Switch release&nbsp;at &#36;50,000.<\/p>\n<p>The goal was reached within 30 minutes of the page going live, with the &#36;250,000 goal for a Steam release hit within the hour.<\/p>\n<p>The &#36;500,000 goal for a PlayStation 4 version&nbsp;was achieved&nbsp;two&nbsp;hours after going live, with a Time Attack mode and new adventure Luka&#8217;s First Mission now available if new higher&nbsp;goals are reached.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There&rsquo;s also a bunch of rewards for Kickstarter backers, including t-shirts, soundtracks, jewellery, and, incredibly, the chance to be blocked by game director Hideki Kamiya on Twitter.<\/p>\n<div data-oembed-url=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bNefE89DZds\">\n<div style=\"left: 0; width: 100%; height: 0; position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%;\"><iframe allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bNefE89DZds?rel=0\" style=\"border: 0; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute;\" tabindex=\"-1\" srcdoc=\"&lt;style&gt;*{padding:0;margin:0;overflow:hidden}html,body{height:100%}img,span{position:absolute;width:100%;top:0;bottom:0;margin:auto}span{height:1.5em;text-align:center;font:48px\/1.5 sans-serif;color:white;text-shadow:0 0 0.5em black}&lt;\/style&gt;&lt;a href=https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bNefE89DZds?autoplay=1&gt;&lt;img src=https:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/bNefE89DZds\/hqdefault.jpg alt='YouTube video thumbnail'&gt;&lt;span&gt;&#9654;&lt;\/span&gt;&lt;\/a&gt;\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>You might be wondering why PlatinumGames, creators of Bayonetta, Astral Chain and Vanquish, would need financial backing for a port. The Wonderful 101 on Wii U was published by Nintendo in 2013, who won&rsquo;t be involved this time around.<\/p>\n<p>Without their backing, PlatinumGames are self-publishing the title themselves &#8211; something they&rsquo;re looking to pursue in future.<\/p>\n<p>In an FAQ on their campaign page, the developer wrote: &ldquo;Although PlatinumGames has been able to grow over the years thanks to the players and our fans, we still haven&rsquo;t been able to fully realise our long-time dream of self-publishing our own IPs.<\/p>\n<div data-oembed-url=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/platinumgames\/status\/1224579016738213888\">\n<blockquote align=\"center\" class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Wow!
