There are certain Pokémon that take more work than others to evolve in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl<\/a> (BDSP). Whether it’s by straight levelling them up or using different methods, not every Pokémon is guaranteed to evolve in Sinnoh. Perhaps the hardest way to evolve a Pokémon is by trading. <\/p>\n

Not every player has access to a friend or a second Nintendo Switch to trade to, making trade evolutions a near impossibility. However, some Pokémon go beyond just needing to be traded to evolve and require an additional held item as well. <\/p>\n

Magmortar<\/a> is one of these Pokémon, requiring a Magmarizer to evolve in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. <\/p>\n

Finding the Magmarizer in Pokémon BDSP<\/h2>\n

Currently, the only way to obtain a Magmarizer in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is by catching wild Magby. The Pokémon has a chance to be holding the item so you simply need to catch one, check if it’s holding a Magmarizer and then go from there. If it is holding one, you can give it to Magmar, trade it and then you’ll have your Magmortar. <\/p>\n

However, if Magby isn’t holding the item, then you need to catch another and repeat the process until you find one that has it. To find wild Magby, you need to head into the Grand Underground and search in the following caves: <\/p>\n
