In spite of all the extra safety precautions we have planned, we still don&#8217;t think we can provide a reasonably safe event in these circumstances,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genesisgaming.gg\/announcement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">a statement from the organisers reads<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Across the United States, COVID-19 cases <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2021\/us\/covid-cases.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">have spiked dramatically<\/a>, reaching a historic one-day high of 1.4 million cases on 10th January.
