We have a dedicated category for all the <a title=\"Dying Light 2 News, Guides and Videos\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/dying-light\">Dying Light 2 news, guides and videos<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dying Light 2 is already budling up to become an epic single-player game, but fans of the first game in this parkour horror franchise know that one of the most fun ways to play Dying Light was in the co-op mode with other friends.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that co-op is back in Dying Light 2, and you will be able to experience the whole campaign with friends or other players online, but one question remains &#8211; doesn&#8217;t Dying Light 2 support cross-platform play?<\/p>\n<h2>Is Dying Light 2 cross-platform?<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/T_ZE7UJKzw_oSuOhgbVogmdblGkpM-3HUUWIf_h99WI\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9EeWluZ19MaWdodF8yL2R5aW5nX2xpZ2h0XzJfbWFpbl9uZXdfLmpwZw\" alt=\"Is Dying Light 2 cross-platform? (Picture: Techland)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As we&#8217;ve already mentioned, Dying Light 2 is set to be released on practically all major platforms simultaneously, excluding cloud-based platforms like Google Stadia and Amazon Luna.<\/p>\n<p>Given that the game will feature four-player cooperative multiplayer, fans are hoping that this means Dying Light 2 will have cross-platform supported from the get-go as well, as people will play the game on different platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, we have some bad news in this regard. Techland has recently confirmed that <strong>Dying Light 2 will not support console cross-platform play<\/strong> at launch. This means, for example, if you play Dying Light 2 on the PS5 and your friend has bought the game on the Xbox Series X, you will not be able to play co-op together, because there is no cross-play support.<\/p>\n<p>The same goes for <strong>cross-generation co-op play, which also won&#8217;t be supported at launch<\/strong>. (Picture: Techland)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The good news here is that all players who buy the game on PS4 and Xbox One consoles will get <strong>a free next-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series X\/S<\/strong> once they install the game on these consoles, which means that you don&#8217;t need to buy the game again once you switch from old to new consoles.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, <strong>there will be PC cross-play support for Steam and Epic Games Store <\/strong>versions of the game, which means that if you own the game on Steam, you can play co-op with someone who owns the game on the Epic Games Store.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, <strong>the game doesn&#8217;t feature cross-progression<\/strong>, which means that your progress won&#8217;t carry over to other platforms even if you own the game there.<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s about all you need to know about Dying Light 2 cross-platform cross-play support.
