Horizon Forbidden West is an incredibly gorgeous open-world game that is not only a visual step-up from its predecessor but also a mechanical and thematical one.<\/p>\n

Both the narrative and gameplay stakes are high in Horizon Forbidden West, and as the player, it’s your job to unravel both one step at a time. However, you can’t solve every mystery immediately in the Forbidden West.<\/p>\n

For some, you have to wait until you reach a specific region in the game or reach a particular milestone in the story. Metal Flowers are one such mysterious objects you will encounter in the game, and here’s our guide that explains what they are and how you can destroy them.<\/p>\n

How to destroy Metal Flowers in Horizon Forbidden West<\/h2>\n

While exploring the open world, you will often come across Metal Flowers, which are strange purple coloured old-world objects sprouting organic vines all around it. For example, you will encounter at least one Metal Flower in The Daunt region<\/a> of Horizon Forbidden West, right next to where you find one of the Signal Lenses<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Upon scanning, you will find that you need special gear to override these Metal Flowers and destroy their surrounding growth. Doing so will open up new areas, brimming with resources and valuables. The special gear in the conversation is one of the Spear upgrades called the Vine Cutter.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, you won’t get the Vine Cutter until halfway through the story, and it could take between 20 to 30 hours to reach, depending on the number of side quests, errand quests, relic ruins, hunting trials, and more you decide to partake.<\/p>\n

The main quest to get the Vine Cutter is called Seeds of the Past. Without delving too much into the spoiler territory, the quest will grant you a Dissolution Code Module, which you have to take to any of the workbenches in the open world to craft the Vine Cutter upgrade for your Spear.<\/p>\n
