{"id":28698,"date":"2022-03-06T02:37:44","date_gmt":"2022-03-06T02:37:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/destiny-2-raid-contest-mode-extended"},"modified":"2024-07-19T22:01:56","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T22:01:56","slug":"destiny-2-raid-contest-mode-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/destiny-2\/destiny-2-raid-contest-mode-extended","title":{"rendered":"Vow of the Disciple Destiny 2 raid Contest Mode extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Destiny 2&#8217;s latest raid, Vow of the Disciple, might have been a spectacular ride for players that weren&#8217;t affected by glaring connection errors throughout launch day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, many others weren&#8217;t as lucky, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/destiny-2\/destiny-2-raid-race-connection-errors\">error codes<\/a> such as anteater disconnecting them from the game as they were trying to complete each of the encounters within the six-man activity.<\/p>\n<p>It was especially egregious for those competing in the Worlds First raid race or those simply looking to get a Day 1 completion in their books since Bungie awards special rewards that are only available for 24 hours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To ensure completing the raid within 24 hours of launch feels more rewarding, Contest Mode, a special modifier that makes every encounter significantly harder, is put in place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While initially only available until 6th March, Bungie has announced that Contest Mode will extend beyond the initial 24 hour period.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Contest Mode extended in the Vow of Disciple raid<\/h2>\n<p>According to the developers, the decision to extend Contest Mode is to ensure all those affected by connection errors can get their hands on the Day 1 completion emblem. (Picture: Bungie)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;Contest Mode has been extended an additional 24 hours and will now end on Monday, March 7, at 10 AM PDT (1800 UTC). This is to give those experiencing connection issues in the Vow of the Disciple raid a chance to obtain The Cleaver emblem,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BungieHelp\/status\/1500271045856534534\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the developers said on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>What is Contest Mode in Destiny 2?<\/h3>\n<p>Contest Mode essentially caps your character&#8217;s Power Level to make things more difficult. Each encounter will be set at 1550 Power Level, with Guardians&#8217; PL capped at 20 less, 1530PL.<\/p>\n<p>One thing worth mentioning is that the Artifact power will be enabled but won&#8217;t grant any benefits past the 1530 threshold. Completing each encounter within the raid also has a chance to drop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/destiny-2\/vow-of-the-disciple-destiny-2-weapons\">multiple pieces of legendary gear and weapons<\/a>, as well as the exotic Pulse Rifle Collective Obligation.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-figure\" contenteditable=\"false\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%;\" contenteditable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/5zLkWHSfFDHhORAqX2eCtXdzg2zVmL_qxo6FmLUtvVw\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9EZXN0aW55XzIvZGVzdGlueV8yX2V4b3RpYy5qcGc\" alt=\"new pulse rifle destiny 2\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption contenteditable=\"false\">The raid exotic is a fantastic addition to Destiny 2.
