Following rumours of an eventual split, esports org TSM FTX finally confirmed that they had mutually parted ways with superstar Matthew “Wardell” Yu, as the 23-year-old decided not to relocate to Texas to continue competing. <\/p>\n

The announcement was made via social media on 23rd March, with TSM promising to fans that Valorant remains an “incredibly important” part of the org. In a follow-up tweet, they revealed Wardell’s desire not to relocate was the main cause for both the org and player to mutually part ways.<\/p>\n

Ever since switching from CS:GO to Valorant, Wardell had been a staple of TSM’s efforts in the North American scene.<\/p>\n

Showing initial promise by winning events such as the FaZe Clan Invitational and coming second at First Strike NA, TSM would eventually become a perennial disappointment in the region.<\/p>\n

The official TSM FTX Twitter account<\/a> posted a message following the departure of Wardell.<\/p>\n

“Matt has been an important part of TSM from the beginning, and we wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors,” the tweet added. <\/p>\n
