So many players have been enjoying the new and improved action-packed GTA 5 and GTA Online as the titles are finally fitted for next-gen consoles. But unfortunately, there have been some issues with false bans being issued when switching games across the new platforms, and players don’t seem to know why.

Luckily, we have all the updates and information you need to ensure there will be no issues when playing GTA 5 and GTA Online. Here’s everything you need to know about the false GTA Online bans on PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as how to avoid them.

The issue has been brought to light by Rockstar Intel, where GTA Online players are banned when switching from GTA 5 Story Mode to GTA Online. While there is no official word as to why this is happening, there is common suspicion amongst players.

It seems as though specific users are not being banned, but rather their IPs. The theory is that due to the switch between IPs from GTA 5 to GTA Online, the server assumes you are a malicious actor, and auto bans the IP you’re playing on.

Clarification: This is not an actual ban, but more of an IP ban. Still remains an issue, but at least you could change your IP to avoid it.

Something likely occurs in between transitioning from Story Mode to GTA Online that causes the servers to assume you’re a malicious actor. https://t.co/QeVKcDsqob

— Tez2 (@TezFunz2) March 25, 2022

False GTA Online bans PS5 and Xbox Series X – How to avoid
