But unfortunately, there have been some issues with false bans being issued when switching games across the new platforms, and players don&#8217;t seem to know why.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, we have all the updates and information you need to ensure there will be no issues when playing GTA 5 and GTA Online. The theory is that due to the switch between IPs from GTA 5 to GTA Online, the server assumes you are a malicious actor, and auto bans the IP you&#8217;re playing on.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Clarification: This is not an actual ban, but more of an IP ban. Still remains an issue, but at least you could change your IP to avoid it.<\/p>\n<p>Something likely occurs in between transitioning from Story Mode to GTA Online that causes the servers to assume you&#8217;re a malicious actor. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QeVKcDsqob\">https:\/\/t.co\/QeVKcDsqob<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Tez2 (@TezFunz2) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TezFunz2\/status\/1507249181420892161?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 25, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\n<script src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async><\/script>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<script src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async><\/script>\n<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, unlike a &#8220;true ban&#8221; that removes all the player&#8217;s resources and progress when banned.
