The Switch has seen Nintendo finally come out swinging this generation, and we couldn’t be happier.  After rumours of Mario and co. going third-party on other systems like Sonic The Hedgehog<\/em>, we’re so happy to see the company bringing their unique quality experiences to the most innovative console we’ve seen in years.<\/p>\n

Whether you’re playing on the go or on your TV at home, these are some of the best, in our opinion) Nintendo Switch<\/a> exclusives that you can’t play on any other console.<\/p>\n

5. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild<\/h2>\n

The game which initially  outsold the Nintendo Switch console itself, Zelda: Breath Of The Wild<\/em><\/strong>‘s huge open world still has speedrunners and longtime fans finding new discoveries to this day. While weapon degradation and survival mechanics aren’t for everyone, they feel at home in this ruined Hyrule – possessing a stunning visual style which makes it look unlike anything else.<\/p>\n

Add the ability to climb any surface (removing any glitching up mountains, Skyrim-style) and you’ve got a huge world to run around in and experiment in.<\/p>\n

4. Super Mario Odyssey<\/h2>\n

Released the same year as the aforementioned Breath of the Wild<\/em>, Super Mario Odyssey<\/em><\/strong> maybe didn’t get the plaudits it rightly deserves. Serving up platforming perfection over multiple sizeable sandbox areas, there’s an incredible amount of detail built into every aspect of the game.<\/p>\n

What separates this from earlier Mario adventures is new hero companion Cappy, who can be thrown at enemies to capture them leading to an abundance of fresh ways to approach challenges.<\/p>\n

3. Fire Emblem: Three Houses<\/h2>\n

Fire Emblem<\/em><\/strong> may not be one of Nintendo’s best known franchises (outside of a seemingly endless amount of entrants into Super Smash Bros. titles), but it has built its reputation on solid turn-based tactical combat.<\/p>\n

This translated wonderfully to the Nintendo Switch with Three Houses<\/em>, which features a huge campaign able to be played three different ways, each adding more flesh to the story.<\/p>\n

With incredible strategy gameplay and a great cast of main and supporting characters who can be nurtured to reach their full potential, Fire Emblem: Three Houses <\/em>might be the best in the series.<\/p>\n

2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/h2>\n

There’s not a lot to say about Super Smash Bros: Ultimate<\/strong><\/em> which hasn’t been said already. To summarise though, its the ultimate celebration of both Nintendo and gaming as a whole. With stages, assist characters, stickers and, of course, fighters from disparate franchises like Metal Gear Solid<\/em>, Final Fantasy<\/em>, Persona<\/em> and Banjo Kazooie<\/em>, it’s a truly incredible collection of content.<\/p>\n

It also helps the underlying platforming\/fighting hybrid is arguably as good and the most balanced it’s ever been. We just want to see Crash Bandicoot<\/em> added so we can see him face off against Sonic and Mario in a platform mascot battle royale.<\/p>\n

1. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe<\/h2>\n

While technically a Wii U port, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe<\/strong><\/em> is still the latest and greatest Mario Kart title you can find anywhere. Bundling together all of the base game’s (already impressive) content, while adding DLC tracks from the likes of The Legend of Zelda<\/em> and F-Zero<\/em>, and an entirely new Battle Mode, this is a must-have for multiplayer party night.<\/p>\n
