Blizzard Entertainment sent out a survey via email this week to thousands of Blizzard game players, asking them their opinions about NFTs, “play to earn” games, and cryptocurrency.

Among other sets of questions, the survey asked users to rank “emerging trends in gaming” – ranging from NFTs to metaverse gaming experiences – on a scale from “Very disinterested” to “Very interested.”

Blizzard Entertainment’s survey was sent to “select players,” and asked users about NFTs, cryptocurrency, the metaverse, and “play to earn” games. At the end of the survey, users ended up in the Blizzard store.

Players were unhappy with the implication that NFTs could come to their favorite Blizzard games, and many found it strange that a survey they did to help the company spit them out in the Blizzard store.

“I will actively avoid games from companies who push NFTs,” said Reddit user 410maximus. “Is there a way to tell them that this would most likely stop me from buying the game?” Reddit user Andrige3 added.
