There have been numerous Fantastic Four films already, dating back to 1994, but the upcoming release has arguably the most intrigue to date, at least it did.<\/p>\n<p>The reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise will be the first since a notorious 2015 flop at the box offices, though it will have to go forward without a key creative cog. Watts stepping away from the Fantastic Four reboot isn&#8217;t for contractual or financial reasons, the director simply wants a break and breath of fresh air from the superhero movie realm.<\/p>\n<p>There doesn&#8217;t seem to be any hard feelings from the Marvel side either, with a statement from Kevin Feige (president) and Louis D&#8217;Esposito (co-president) reading &ldquo;Collaborating with Jon on the <em>Spider-Man<\/em> films has been a true pleasure. We were looking forward to continuing our work with him to bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU but understand and are supportive of his reasons for stepping away.
