With the Guardian Games 2022 kicking off in Destiny 2, players are hard at work trying to earn a victory for their class, all while earning some sweet loot and completing quests along the way.

Grinding the event can be a bit daunting, especially if you’re a new player that just had thrown so many new terms all of a sudden. What are Laurels? How do I complete Contender Cards? What’s a Medallion?

With all this in mind, we’ve put together this easy and, hopefully, helpful guide to guide you through some of the new stuff Guardian Games has to offer.

We’ve previously talked about how you can get your hands on the brand-new The Title SMG and how to complete the Best In Class quest, now it’s time to talk about Laurels and how to use them during the Destiny 2 Guardian Games.

Laurels are an exclusive Guardian Games currency. You can earn them while playing any activity. The requirements are as follows:

Now that you know how to earn Laurels, it’s time to explain what are they for exactly.

As we’ve said, Laurels is nothing but a currency exclusive to the Guardian Games in Destiny 2. It’s used to buy Contender Cards. These cards are needed to earn extra Medallions during the event.

Contender Cards are activity-based, the easier ones revolve around things like Crucible, PvP, world activities, and more. Harder Contender Cards are focused on things like Nightfalls or Trials of Osiris.

Depending on their difficulty, Contender Cards can cost either 100 or 200 Laurels. If you’re just starting, we recommend you pick up the 100 Laurel cards and blast through them.

Keep in mind you can only purchase a single Contender Card at a time, and if you decide to drop it, you won’t get the 100 or 200 Laurels you invest back.

One more thing that’s important to keep in mind is that there is a limit to how many Laurels you can carry at a time. If you complete the Best In Class quest, Eva Levante will grant you a Medallion case, which tracks how many Laurels you currently carry.

You can have up to 500 Laurels at a given time, so be sure to purchase and complete Contender Cards regularly.

How to get Laurels in Destiny 2
