Lucasfilm’s upcoming series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, has sent beloved Star Wars<\/a> fans into a complete hyperdrive ever since it was officially announced at Disney’s D23 Convention last year. Much of the excitement surrounding the series is highlighted by the return of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen more than a decade following their previous appearances.<\/p>\n

Since we’re just days away from its worldwide premiere on Disney+ this month, there’s plenty to unpack before catching up with the Galaxy’s favorite Jedi Master. With that being said, here’s everything you need to know about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, including its premiere date, how to watch it, and more.<\/p>\n

What is the plot of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series?<\/h2>\n

Set ten years following the events of Star Wars Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, the series follows an aged, faithless, and embattled former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Carefully watching over a young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, Kenobi will also be embarking on a new yet dangerous mission that will see him face new threats and travel beyond the dunes of Tatooine.<\/p>\n

Likewise, his presence attracts the attention of the Galactic Empire, which could jeopardize the location of the young Skywalker. Additionally, Kenobi will come face-to-face with a familiar face and formidable foe in Anakin Skywalker \/ Darth Vader.<\/p>\n

Obi-Wan Kenobi series casting and characters<\/h2>\n

The Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series will feature a cast of mostly new characters; many are lifted from Star Wars novelizations. Additionally, we’ll see returning characters from the Prequel trilogy, which will set up “the rematch of the century.”<\/p>\n

Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reprise their roles as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker \/ Darth Vader. The actors last portrayed these roles in Star Wars Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, released in 2005, nearly 17 years before the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.<\/p>\n
