Admittedly, catching Shiny Alolan Geodude in Pokémon GO will take a lot of luck, and there are a few ways to boost those chances under the right conditions. One of those will come down to increasing the sheer volume of catches.

Any time you encounter a Geodude, you’ll have a chance for Shiny, even if it’s a low probability overall. Therefore, your chances increase proportionally with more catch attempts.

When you see an Alolan Geodude on the map, you can tap and begin the encounter, and the colors will show right away. You don’t need to catch the Pokémon to see whether it’s Shiny or not.
