Seel is one of the next Pokémon to get the Spotlight Hour treatment in Pokémon GO, and each week, one of the most asked questions is whether the featured pick has a shiny form. When there is such a huge influx in spawns for one Pokémon, it always helps to know if there is a chance for something like Shiny Seel.

Spotlight hours always go on for an hour, and there will be nearly infinite spawns of one Pokémon. It’s essentially a less formal Community Day with no special research. Unlike Community Days though, there is no guaranteed shiny, and many featured Pokémon won’t have their alternate color available.

The good news for the Seel fans in Pokémon GO is that Shiny Seel does exist in the game. Every single Kanto Region Pokémon, all the original 151 Pokédex entries, has a Shiny form available to catch. This was made absolute across the board when the Kanto Tour went live in 2021.

Of course, that includes Seel and the second form of Dewgong. Normal Seel is a very light grey in Pokémon, and that color also stays true for the evolution. In that chance that you find a Shiny within Pokémon GO, the Seel will appear as a light yellow-hue rather than the typical grey.
