A. A. Milne’s popular 1926 children’s story of Winnie-the-Pooh just took a dark turn that will undoubtedly ruin your childhood memories forever. A spin on the classic tale, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,<\/em> is currently in post-production and sees our favorite anthropomorphic teddy bear turned into a homicidal maniac.<\/p>\n

Late last year, Milne’s copyright over the fictional teddy expired, marking 95 years since the original story was first published. Followingly, Milne’s Pooh finally entered the public domain, allowing writer-director Rhys Frake-Wakefield to capitalize and reimagine the beloved character.<\/p>\n

According to the film’s IMDb page<\/a>, the story will follow Pooh and Piglet as they go on a murderous rampage after Christopher Robin abandons them to go to college.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Variety<\/em><\/a>, Frake-Waterfield explained that once Christopher Robin leaves, Pooh and Piglet’s life becomes increasingly challenging, forcing them to fend for themselves. “They’ve essentially become feral,” noted Frake-Waterfield. “So they’ve gone back to their animal roots. They’re no longer tame: they’re like a vicious bear and pig who want to go around and try and find prey.”<\/p>\n
