The Tropical Vision, otherwise known as COD Mobile Season 5, is going live and that means new changes to the weapons like submachine guns. Every season brings new weapon tuning to the game, and that typically translates to a shift in the overall SMG tier list.

How the weapons go up or down in tiers can depend on a couple of different factors. The first is changes to the base stats of the weapon, with or without any augments. The second is changes to the attachments instead, which can alter the effectiveness of a given SMG. In Season 5, some of these changes have been made in both aspects, but the overall tier list won’t have drastic changes.

Submachine guns are arguably the most dominant weapons in COD Mobile, so picking the right one from a Season 5 tier list can make a massive difference in your own games. Assault rifles are almost on par, but if you face a meta SMG up close, you’ll likely melt away within a split second.

The best submachine guns all have an incredibly fast TTK mixed with controllable recoil and decent effective damage range. It makes them hard to deal with, especially when playing against the S-tier to A-tier options. In Season 5, most of the tiers have remained similar, but some guns have changed in their effectiveness.

Tier rank description:

Note: This SMG tier list for COD Mobile Season 5 is based on the latest patch notes set to go live. The goal is to create a list that accurately reflects the meta and the changes being implemented to the weapons. Some lists will have differences in their rankings.

These submachine guns essentially run COD Mobile lobbies and they are hard to contest. Each one of them has an incredibly fast TTK with next to no recoil. They can act as an AR in some situations, and they will nearly always win close-quarters fights.

Nearly all of the submachine guns in A-Tier have been considered S-Tier at one point or another. Due to some of the latest changes, the MAC-10 and the PPSh-41 have gone down just enough to move to A-Tier, but all of the options in this rank are still fantastic.

As always, the B-Tier weapons are the middle-of-the-line options. Consistency is their best trait, but they shoot just a bit too slow to best the other options above. These are still usable, but they will certainly lose up against something like a QQ9.

In this tier, the weapon options all have one trait that saves them from being at the bottom of the barrel. Whether it’s burst damage or high accuracy, that niche trait can help you in specific scenarios. But not enough to warrant a serious loadout.

This is the bottom tier and the last two submachine guns here don’t have much to offer in COD Mobile Season 5. Though the Chicom has had recent changes, they weren’t enough to make a dent in the meta. Unfortunately, the PDW also gets left behind.

Considering how short the seasons are, it’s not likely this tier list will change before Season 7. But they are only about a month-long, and before you know it, another set of changes will arrive.

COD Mobile Season 5 Tropical Vision – SMG tier list
