The Sandman (2022) is a popular TV series on the streaming service Netflix<\/a>. The show was developed in collaboration with DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. and is a live-action adaptation of the original DC comic book story of the same name by Neil Gaiman.<\/p>\n

The series, which featured 11 episodes in its first season, premiered in August 2022 and was (naturally) a hit among DC Comic fans as they followed the king of dreams (Morpheus, aka Dream) to escape an occult ritual and restore order to his kingdom of the Dreaming. The Sandman Season 1 was released on 5 August 2022<\/strong>. This season initially featured only ten episodes; however, an additional episode aired later on 19 August 2022. The show was renewed for a second season on 10 November 2022. An official release date for The Sandman Season 2<\/a> is not yet known but is expected to premiere sometime in 2023.<\/p>\n

What Is Netflix’s The Sandman About?<\/h2>\n

Netflix’s The Sandman was largely inspired by the classic Sandman series of 1989, centered around Morpheus (Dream) and his six family members (the Endless). Accordingly, the show follows Dream on his rise to power after escaping the entrapment of an occult ritual that imprisoned him for 105 years.<\/p>\n

The official storyline of The Sandman reads: “A wizard attempting to capture Death to bargain for eternal life traps her younger brother Dream instead. Fearful for his safety, the wizard kept him imprisoned in a glass bottle for decades. After his escape, Dream, also known as Morpheus, goes on a quest for his lost objects of power.”<\/p>\n
